Search Engine Optimisation
We all want our web site to be top of the rankings but this cannot be guaranteed and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) has become a massive industry. Yet even with paid ads on Google you cannot guarantee front page let alone top five listings in search engine results. In reality we know very little about how to manipulate search results except that delibrate manipulation does not work.
What we do know is if a site is well written and coded the search engines will find it considerably easier to catalogue and therefore list favourably. By saying well written we don't just mean relevant content but how the text is structured. All documents whether online or in traditional print should have titles, headings, sub-headings paragraphs and lists in a heirarchial order. Correct coding allows us to present that important structure to search engines yet still allow us to give the site a visual design which reflects our clients marketinig needs. Additionally correct coding ensures that whichever device your customers view your Internet presence on it will be readable and attractive to look at.
